Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 has finally dropped on Netflix and the fans are already busy speculating new theories.

Given the significance of the scene, many fans believe this mysterious character could play a major role in Season 2 Part 2. But who is she? Let’s delve into a popular theory.

Is the Mystery Woman Aunt Ophelia Addams?

Throughout the season, Wednesday’s aunt Ophelia is mentioned multiple times. She’s the sister of Morticia and serves as a strong connection between Wednesday and her mother. She also shares a lot of similarities with Wednesday, having a similar set of psychic powers. However, Ophelia vanished 20 years ago under mysterious circumstances.

According to Morticia, Ophelia once pushed her psychic abilities too far, producing the same black tears that Wednesday now struggles with. Concerned for her safety, her mother Hester (Joanna Lumley) sent her away to Willow Hill.

The theory suggests that Ophelia never left Willow Hill and may have been imprisoned there all this time. This would explain her decades-long absence and lack of contact with the family.

We also know that Ohelia was a patient at Willow Hill. At one point, Uncle Fester admits that Morticia had once asked him to break Ophelia out, but he refused.

Given how frequently Ophelia’s name comes up, the woman Wednesday rescues may be none other than her long-lost aunt.

Other Possibilities About the Mystery Woman

While this theory seems convincing, there are also some other possibilities. Another fan theory suggests that the mystery woman could be Tyler’s mother. While season 1 implied that she had died, some viewers believe she may still be alive. She might have been imprisoned at Willow Hill and could have an important role in part 2.
