Given the significance of the scene, many fans believe this mysterious character could play a major role in Season 2 Part 2. Now it has been confirmed that this woman is Françoise, Tyler’s long-believed-dead mother.

Rather than dying years ago as everyone believed, she had actually been captured and kept at Willow Hill as part of the same experiments targeting powerful Outcasts and Hydes. Her fate was covered up, adding another dark layer to the facility’s history.

The reveal also recontextualizes Tyler’s entire storyline. Knowing that his mother was alive and suffering gives his character new emotional weight and helps explain the Hyde legacy tied to his family. Her return becomes a key turning point in the second half of the season and plays an important role in Tyler’s future.
